Dividend payout a welcomed bonus for Malaysians

PETALING JAYA: Given the devastating effect the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the economy, economists and Malaysians have welcomed the Employees Provident Fund’s dividend payout for 2020. EPF had declared dividends of 5.20% for Conventional Savings and 4.9% for Syariah Savings for 2020, with a total dividend payout of RM47.64bil. Read full story

Covid-19 & Illegal Immigrants: Documentary defaming Malaysia

On July 3, 2020, Al Jazeera through segment 101 East published a 26-minute short documentary (by Drew Ambrose and Jenni Henderseon) on how Malaysia treated illegal immigrants while Covid-19 was in critical condition (within the MCO). Locked Up in Malaysia's Lockdown Hidden away in the COVID-19 pandemic are Malaysia's migrant workers. For years, they have done the country's most dangerous, dirtiest jobs. Now, undocumented foreign workers are scared for their future.
