Maid gets six months' jail, RM3,000 fine for stealing employer's jewellery

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): An Indonesian maid who stole her employer’s jewellery was sentenced to six months in prison and fined RM3,000, in default three months’ jail by the Selayang Magistrate's Court here on Wednesday (June 30). Read full story

On July 3, 2020, Al Jazeera through segment 101 East published a 26-minute short documentary (by Drew Ambrose and Jenni Henderseon) on how Malaysia treated illegal immigrants while Covid-19 was in critical condition (within the MCO). Locked Up in Malaysia's Lockdown Hidden away in the COVID-19 pandemic are Malaysia's migrant workers. For years, they have done the country's most dangerous, dirtiest jobs. Now, undocumented foreign workers are scared for their future.
