Covid-19: 24 Indonesians fined RM2,000 each for breaching SOPs at Hari Raya Haji gathering

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Twenty-four Indonesians, including a woman, were fined RM2,000 each in default of three months' imprisonment by the Selayang Magistrate’s Court here Wednesday (July 28), for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) by gathering in conjunction with Hari Raya Haji celebrations. On July 3, 2020, Al Jazeera through segment 101 East published a 26-minute short documentary (by Drew Ambrose and Jenni Henderseon) on how Malaysia treated illegal immigrants while Covid-19 was in critical condition (within the MCO). Locked Up in Malaysia's Lockdown Hidden away in the COVID-19 pandemic are Malaysia's migrant workers. For years, they have done the country's most dangerous, dirtiest jobs.
