U.S. imposes sanctions on Syrian prisons, officials

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Treasury Department said on Wednesday it had imposed sanctions on eight Syrian prisons run by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's intelligence apparatus and five senior officials who control the sites, where human rights abuses have taken place. Read full story

On July 3, 2020, Al Jazeera through segment 101 East published a 26-minute short documentary (by Drew Ambrose and Jenni Henderseon) on how Malaysia treated illegal immigrants while Covid-19 was in critical condition (within the MCO). Locked Up in Malaysia's Lockdown Hidden away in the COVID-19 pandemic are Malaysia's migrant workers. For years, they have done the country's most dangerous, dirtiest jobs. Now, undocumented foreign workers are scared for their future.
