Citizenship for overseas-born children: Court to hear govt’s stay application on Nov 15

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The High Court here on Monday (Sept 27) fixed Nov 15 to hear the government’s application for a stay of the court’s ruling that children born overseas to Malaysian women married to foreigners are entitled to be citizens of Malaysia. Read full story

On July 3, 2020, Al Jazeera through segment 101 East published a 26-minute short documentary (by Drew Ambrose and Jenni Henderseon) on how Malaysia treated illegal immigrants while Covid-19 was in critical condition (within the MCO). Locked Up in Malaysia's Lockdown Hidden away in the COVID-19 pandemic are Malaysia's migrant workers. For years, they have done the country's most dangerous, dirtiest jobs. Now, undocumented foreign workers are scared for their future.
