Ecuador sends in 400 police to restore order after 116 inmates die in prison riot

QUITO (Reuters) - Ecuador's national police service said on Thursday that it had sent in 400 officers to restore order at one of the country's largest prisons after a riot this week in which at least 116 inmates died and 80 were injured. Read full story

On July 3, 2020, Al Jazeera through segment 101 East published a 26-minute short documentary (by Drew Ambrose and Jenni Henderseon) on how Malaysia treated illegal immigrants while Covid-19 was in critical condition (within the MCO). Locked Up in Malaysia's Lockdown Hidden away in the COVID-19 pandemic are Malaysia's migrant workers. For years, they have done the country's most dangerous, dirtiest jobs. Now, undocumented foreign workers are scared for their future.
